Southern California Edison (SCE) has announced that it has extended more than 500 compensation offers to individuals and businesses affected by the Eaton Fire, reaching this milestone just over 100 days after launching its recovery program. The initiative aims to provide compensation in line with settlements from previous wildfire lawsuits, but with a process designed to be faster and less complex than traditional litigation.

According to SCE, as of February 13, 2026, a total of 2,345 claims have been submitted on behalf of 6,778 individuals. The company has made 507 offers covering 1,457 individuals, amounting to more than $165 million in relief. Of these, payments totaling over $15 million have already been made or are currently being processed for 71 claimants.

Pedro J. Pizarro, president and CEO of Edison International—SCE’s parent company—said: “We know how deeply the Eaton Fire affected the community. This program is one way we’re working with clarity and compassion to support those impacted and help them move forward. Reaching 500 offers reflects our commitment to helping the community recover as swiftly as possible.”

The process for submitting a claim takes about 100 minutes on average. SCE reports that its team works directly with claimants and aims to deliver settlement offers within 90 days after receiving a fully documented claim; many are processed even faster. Payments are typically issued within five days once all conditions in the settlement agreement are met.

To assist claimants in expediting their applications, SCE recommends gathering all supporting documents beforehand and saving them digitally for easier upload. Claimants should also monitor their email inboxes—including spam or promotions folders—for updates from SCE staff and respond promptly if additional information is requested.

Information about submitting claims—including guidance materials in English and Spanish—is available on the Wildfire Recovery Compensation Program web page. Assistance is offered by phone in multiple languages at 888-912-8528, with options for in-person appointments as well.

Southern California Edison serves approximately 15 million people through five million customer accounts across Central, Coastal, and Southern California.
