Southern California Edison (SCE) has extended 210 compensation offers totaling $117 million to individuals and businesses affected by the Eaton Fire through its Wildfire Recovery Compensation Program. The company had committed to providing relief within 90 days of a complete claim submission, and this milestone comes exactly three months after the program’s launch.

The compensation offers vary significantly, with some as high as $13.1 million for claimants with multiple properties and others as low as $20,000 for tenants experiencing non-burn damage. Notable settlements include $135,000 for a tenant household with smoke and ash damage, nearly $650,000 for a tenant household deemed a total loss, and over $2.7 million for an owner household that lost their home entirely in addition to insurance proceeds.

Pedro J. Pizarro, president and CEO of Edison International—SCE’s parent company—said: “We know that many in the community are weighing whether this program is right for them. Our hope is that people will take a look at the program, fill out a claim and see if it is the right decision for them. The recovery we are starting to see in the Altadena area is inspiring and a reminder of what this program was designed to do.”

Since October 29, 2025, more than 2,100 claims have been submitted covering over 6,000 individuals. SCE reports that 59 payments have already been made with more in process.

The Wildfire Recovery Compensation Program aims to provide settlement values comparable to those from previous wildfire lawsuits but through a faster and more streamlined process. Claimants can receive compensation for economic losses such as property damage or business interruption; non-economic losses related to personal impacts; direct participation premiums; and attorneys’ fees when applicable.

More than 30% of claims so far have been submitted by plaintiffs’ attorneys or authorized representatives. In response to feedback from legal counsel, SCE has introduced a batch intake process allowing law firms to submit multiple claims at once—a move intended to speed up administrative handling.

Submitting an individual claim takes just over 100 minutes on average. Claims can be filed until November 30, 2026. Once all required documentation is provided and conditions are met—including signing and notarizing settlement agreements—payments are issued within 30 days.

Claimants who need further analysis beyond standard review can request detailed consideration of their cases.

To learn more about submitting claims or obtaining support in English or Spanish—including one-on-one assistance—individuals can visit SCE’s Wildfire Recovery Compensation Program web page or call the dedicated hotline at 888-912-8528. In-person appointments are also available.

Southern California Edison serves approximately 15 million people across Central, Coastal, and Southern California through five million customer accounts spanning a service area of about 50,000 square miles.
