Snapchat’s AR Studio Paris has collaborated with historian and adventurer Bettany Hughes OBE and SandStone Global Productions to launch a new television series, “Seven Wonders of the Ancient World with Bettany Hughes.” The program will air on Channel 5 in the UK.
The series follows Hughes as she travels across Greece, Egypt, and Turkey to explore the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Using Snap’s augmented reality technology, viewers can experience these historical sites from their homes by scanning an on-screen QR code during the broadcast. This feature allows users to virtually visit locations such as the Great Pyramid of Giza and the Hanging Gardens of Babylon.
The show is scheduled to premiere on Channel 5 at 6:30 p.m. BST on August 2, with weekly episodes available for streaming on My 5. International audiences can access augmented reality experiences related to each wonder through SandStone Global Productions’ website at https://www.sandstoneglobal.com/seven-wonders-ar.
