Snap Inc. has announced that its Imagine Lens, an image generation tool previously limited to Lens+ and Snapchat Platinum subscribers, is now available to all Snapchat users in the United States without a subscription. The company has also started expanding access to users in Canada, Great Britain, and Australia.

The Imagine Lens allows users to type in any idea and generate an image based on their prompt. According to Snap Inc., “With the Imagine Lens, your creativity is the only limit. Just type in your idea, watch it come to life, and share your creation with friends, your Story, or even beyond Snapchat.”

Snapchat reports that Lenses are used more than 8 billion times daily by its users for various creative purposes. To encourage experimentation with the new feature, Snap is offering a limited number of free generations for all users.

The company emphasized responsible use of AI-generated content: “We love how AI unlocks amazing creativity—so keep it fun, stay transparent, and share responsibly when you use or post AI-edited or generated content.”
