With the Los Angeles Dodgers set to face the Toronto Blue Jays in the upcoming World Series, Los Angeles is preparing for an influx of Canadian fans and a celebration that extends beyond baseball. The event highlights not only a major sports rivalry but also the connection between two cities recognized for their cultural influence and international reach.
Both Los Angeles and Toronto are also gearing up to serve as host cities for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, signaling a period of increased global attention and international sports activity. The Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board is encouraging visitors from Toronto and elsewhere to experience what the city has to offer during the series.
“Los Angeles is looking forward to welcoming the Toronto Blue Jays and their fans to LA for what promises to be an unforgettable series,” said Adam Burke, President & CEO, Los Angeles Tourism. “This moment goes beyond competition—it’s about connection, camaraderie, and celebrating two world-class cities united by passion, pride, and the love of the game.”
The Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board has published a Dodgers Game Day Guide aimed at helping visitors explore local neighborhoods such as Echo Park and Elysian Valley near Dodger Stadium. The guide suggests sampling a range of food options at places like Guisados, Donna’s, and LaSorted’s, or visiting local establishments popular with Dodgers fans such as Highland Park Brewery and The Short Stop.
Other recommendations include exploring Little Tokyo for themed treats inspired by international baseball connections, venturing into different Los Angeles neighborhoods from Hollywood to its beaches, enjoying outdoor activities like hiking in Griffith Park or along Malibu’s coast, and relaxing in areas like Santa Monica or Venice.
Canadian culture also features prominently in suggested activities. Visitors are encouraged to try Lucia by Jamaican-Canadian chef Adrian Forte and attend performances at Walt Disney Concert Hall, designed by Canadian architect Frank Gehry.
Los Angeles officials emphasize that the city is prepared to welcome fans from Canada and other countries with hospitality reflective of its diversity. They highlight shared cultural interests and a strong mutual appreciation for sports as factors that connect Los Angeles and Toronto.
