The Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce has expressed its condolences following the death of filmmaker Rob Reiner. Reiner was known not only for his work in film but also for his advocacy in early childhood education and health.

According to the Chamber, Reiner’s efforts in the mid-1990s led to the creation of the “I Am Your Child” initiative. This campaign contributed to the passage of Proposition 10, which funds services for children from birth to age five. The measure helped establish California’s First 5 network, a system supporting early education and families throughout the state.

In a statement, the Chamber said: “The L.A. Area Chamber mourns the loss of legendary filmmaker Rob Reiner, whose impact extended far beyond Hollywood. Reiner was a tireless advocate for early childhood education and health, recognizing that early learning is not only a policy priority but a moral and economic imperative that strengthens families, workforce readiness, and long-term prosperity.”

The Chamber added: “The Chamber extends its deepest condolences to his family, friends, and all who benefited from his extraordinary legacy.”

The Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce represents organizations across various sectors in the region. Its mission focuses on promoting an inclusive and competitive economy by bringing together business leaders, communities, and policymakers.
