The International Labor Communications Association (ILCA) is set to hold its biennial convention in New Orleans from November 18 to 20, 2025. The event will feature community service activities, networking receptions, the ILCA awards ceremony, and a series of panels and workshops. The theme for this year’s convention has not yet been announced.

The ILCA provides support to labor communicators throughout North America and is affiliated with the AFL-CIO. DeLane Adams, Assistant Communications Director at IAM Union, currently serves as Secretary-Treasurer for the organization.

IAM Communications Department members have received recognition at past ILCA Labor Media Awards Contests. These contests are known as the largest and longest-running competitions dedicated to labor communications in North America.

This year’s IAM Union winners include Angela Colaizzi, who received the Max Steinbock Award for “NLRB Takes Down Union Buster.” Ashley Mumford and the IAM Journal Team secured third place for Best Print Publication with their Summer 2023 issue of IAM Journal. Ross Olson was awarded third place for Best Design – Single Issue Publication.

Past conventions have provided opportunities for labor communication professionals from across North America to exchange best practices.

Registration for the ILCA Convention is open to all interested parties; membership is not required. More information can be found on the registration page: https://ilcaonline.org/convention/.
