The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) held its annual MNPL Conference in Savannah, Ga., on March 31. Around 300 IAM Union members attended the event to discuss labor politics, fundraising efforts, and legislative updates as they prepare for the upcoming midterm elections.

The conference served as a platform for union members who are active in political advocacy to hear directly from legislative leaders about strategies and priorities moving forward. Attendees received updates on the current political landscape and how it could impact workers’ rights.

Following the conference, IAM delegates joined the No Kings rally and march in downtown Savannah. During this public demonstration, participants voiced criticism of the President’s labor policies.

Events like these reflect ongoing efforts by organized labor groups to influence policy decisions at both local and national levels. The combination of internal strategy sessions and public demonstrations highlights how unions seek to advance their interests through multiple avenues.

As preparations continue ahead of the midterms, IAM members are expected to remain engaged in both advocacy within their organization and broader community actions.
