The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) recently hosted its 2025 Joint Air Transport Safety Committee (JATSC) Conference at the William W. Winpisinger Center in Hollywood, Maryland. The event centered on efforts to enhance safety within the air transport sector.

According to the IAM, the committee emphasized collaborative safety initiatives, such as the Ground Safety Action Program, and prioritized injury prevention, hazard mitigation, and the improvement of worker safety reporting systems. Training and education for members were also key topics during the conference.

The conference featured daily video wrap-up reports, which covered sessions on topics like distracted driving and workplace concerns, including carelessness and complacency.

The IAM continues to support efforts that address these issues through education and the promotion of safety programs.
