The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) announced on Mar. 12 that its 2026 IAM Legislative Conference will take place from June 22 to June 24 at the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill.
The conference is an important event for IAM members to engage directly with lawmakers and discuss issues affecting their work and communities. In the previous year, more than 400 IAM members attended the conference in Washington, D.C., which was described as one of the strongest turnouts in recent history.
Registration for delegates opens at 9 a.m. on Monday, June 22, and continues until 12:30 p.m., with a second registration window available on Tuesday morning from 8 to 8:45 a.m. The opening session will begin Monday afternoon at 1:30 p.m., led by IAM Legislative and Political Director Hasan Solomon. The keynote address will be delivered by IAM International President Brian Bryant.
General sessions are scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon on both Tuesday and Wednesday. Delegates will have dedicated time in the afternoons to lobby on Capitol Hill, meeting face-to-face with their elected representatives. The conference will conclude Wednesday evening with a Congressional reception starting at 5:30 p.m.
All delegates are encouraged to arrange meetings with their Congressional district representative and both U.S. senators before arriving in Washington. According to the announcement, these conversations are considered among “the most powerful tools IAM members have, enabling elected officials to hear from you directly.”
