IAM Local 318 leader Joseph Rumrey, who represents Boston rail workers at Keolis, recently took part in a leadership training session at the IAM Winpisinger Center in Hollywood, Maryland. The program brought together about 14 union representatives from different parts of the United States.

The focus of the class was to help participants develop important skills needed to support their members. Training included instruction on writing claims and preparing for legal investigations. These abilities are considered essential for union leaders working to protect their membership.

In addition to individual training, the rail division is also prioritizing broader goals such as advocating for more funding for commuter rail and supporting efforts to expand high-speed rail infrastructure across the country.
