Each week, the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) receives new filings that may affect utility services, communities, and consumers across the state. These filings can include proposed decisions open for public comment as well as new complaints or applications that could shape future policy and regulatory actions.

From October 6 to October 10, 2025, several new proceedings were filed with the CPUC:

On October 6, Santa Barbara Airbus, Inc., doing business as Santa Barbara Airbus (PSC-1262), filed an application seeking authority to increase its base fares while maintaining a Zone of Rate Freedom.

On October 7, Pacific Gas and Electric Company submitted an application requesting approval to increase its authority for short-term borrowing by $2.0 billion, raising the total not to exceed $10.5 billion.

On October 8, the CPUC initiated a rulemaking proceeding intended to oversee the Resource Adequacy Program. This process will consider reforms and refinements to the program and establish forward resource adequacy procurement obligations.

The CPUC encourages public participation in these proceedings. “If a Proposed Decision is listed, you can submit a written comment directly on the proceeding’s Docket Card. For any proceeding, you can also subscribe to the CPUC’s Subscription Service using the proceeding number to receive updates, rulings, and notices.”

To participate in these processes or follow developments in ongoing cases, members of the public can submit comments through Docket Cards or subscribe for updates by referencing specific proceeding numbers.
