California Public Utilities Commission receives new utility-related filings for early February 2026

Each week, new filings are submitted to ongoing and new proceedings that influence California’s utility services and regulations. These filings can include proposed decisions open for public comment, as well as new complaints and applications that may impact future policies.

Among the recent applications, Bear Valley Electric Service, Inc. has requested authority to increase rates and charges for electric service effective January 1, 2027. NiceMojo Technologies, LLC has applied for registration as a telephone corporation under Public Utilities Code Section 1013. The Utility Reform Network seeks an award of intervenor compensation for contributions to Resolution SPD-37.

San Diego Gas & Electric Company has filed an application for approval of Demand Flexibility Rates in compliance with Decision 25-08-049. Fireline Communications LLC is seeking registration as a telephone corporation pursuant to Public Utilities Code Section 1013. LTE Wireless, Inc. has applied for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity to provide limited facilities-based and resold competitive local exchange service, interexchange services, or fixed interconnected VoIP services.

Recent complaints include Pamela Browning and Joesph Frankl filing against Pacific Gas and Electric Company over alleged improper placement of facilities outside of utility easement. Natalie Lawler and Alexander Myrvold have brought a complaint against Southern California Edison Company alleging violation of Rule 17. Amy Weaver has filed a complaint against Wave Energy, LLC regarding unauthorized service and overbilling.

The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) allows the public to participate by submitting comments on proposed decisions via each proceeding’s Docket Card or by subscribing to receive updates using the proceeding number.
