Each week, new filings are submitted to ongoing and new proceedings that affect California’s utility services, communities, and consumers. These filings include Proposed Decisions that are open for public comment, as well as complaints and applications that may influence future regulatory actions.

Proposed Decisions currently open for public comment include the denial in part of Pacific Bell Telephone Company d/b/a AT&T California’s application to relinquish its eligible telecommunications carrier designation; the denial of compensation to Water Rate Advocates for transparency, equity, and sustainability; the dismissal without prejudice of Pacific Gas and Electric Company’s application for a determination under Section 851; approval of an initial tranche of Energy Efficiency Market Transformation Initiatives; denial of a petition for modification of Decision 24-12-005; adoption of modifications to broadband-related accounts and program requirements; approval by Commissioner Baker of the initial tranche of Energy Efficiency Market Transformation Initiatives; and establishment of methods and standards for just compensation and valuation.

New complaints and applications filed this week include Horizon West Transmission, LLC’s application for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity for the Ironwood Transmission Line Project. The City of San Juan Capistrano has applied to construct a public multi-use trail crossing beneath the SCRRA/Metrolink Orange Subdivision bridge over Trabuco Creek. The California Solar & Storage Association has filed a complaint against Pacific Gas and Electric Company and Southern California Edison Company alleging violations related to Rule 21. Other complaints involve allegations such as failure to provide reliable service, billing errors, or violations regarding utility regulations.

Ongoing proceedings also address petitions to adopt or amend regulations under Public Utilities Code Section 1708.5, as well as applications from water companies seeking authorization to increase revenues or modify rate designs.

Members of the public can participate by submitting written comments on Proposed Decisions via the CPUC Docket Card or subscribing to specific proceedings using their number to receive updates on rulings and notices.
