California Public Utilities Commission announces weekly update on new regulatory filings

Each week, the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) releases updates on new filings that may influence utility services and policies in the state. The most recent set of filings covers the week of February 16-20, 2026.

Among the filings open for public comment is a Proposed Decision in Proceeding A09-09-022. This matter concerns Southern California Edison Company’s application for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity for the Alberhill System Project.

Another filing, Proceeding P25-09-009, involves a Proposed Decision that denies a petition to initiate rulemaking to adopt, amend, or repeal regulations under Public Utilities Code Section 1708.5.

Additionally, there is a new joint application in Proceeding A26-02-008. Sierra Telephone Company, Inc., along with its affiliates Sierra Telephone Long Distance, Varcomm-SierraTel, Varcomm Holdings, Inc., and V Squared Holdings, Inc., seeks approval for the transfer of control of Sierra Telephone Company and Sierra Telephone Long Distance under California Public Utilities Code Section 854(a).

The CPUC encourages public participation by allowing written comments on Proposed Decisions through each proceeding’s Docket Card. Stakeholders can also subscribe to specific proceedings to receive updates and notices about rulings and developments.
