Each week, the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) publishes updates on new filings and proposed decisions that may affect utility services and consumers across the state. The most recent update includes several proceedings with potential impacts for electricity, water, and telecommunications customers.
Among the filings is a decision to close Proceeding A21-060-21, after determining that Pacific Gas and Electric Company’s energization costs will be tracked in another ongoing rulemaking. Any unresolved issues from Decision 24-07-008 will also be addressed in that forum.
Another notable item is a proposed decision in Proceeding A22-100-13, which would grant in part and deny in part a base rate increase request, while approving a 20% Zone of Rate Freedom (ZORF).
Suburban Water Systems has filed an application seeking authority to raise its water service rates by nearly $20 million or 19.41% in 2027, followed by additional increases in subsequent years. Southern California Edison Company submitted an application for approval to grant public road and limited utilities easements to the City of Ontario.
Pacific Gas and Electric Company has requested approval for its income-qualified programs for the period 2028–2033. In transportation, 805 Links LLC seeks permission to operate as a scheduled passenger stage corporation between Ventura County cities and Los Angeles with flexible fare structures.
Other applications include Pro Cloud Saas, LLC’s registration as a telephone corporation, as well as San Diego Gas & Electric Company’s request for approval of its 2026 electric procurement revenue requirement forecasts.
A complaint was also filed by Stephen Wilcox against Southern California Edison Company alleging billing errors.
Members of the public can submit written comments on any proposed decision through the CPUC’s Docket Card system. Those interested can subscribe to specific proceedings using their numbers to receive future updates and notices from the CPUC.
