The California Public Utilities Commission announced on March 30 a series of new filings and proposed decisions from the week of March 23-27, 2026. These filings include proposed rate increases, improvements to climate credits, and applications affecting utility services across the state.

The updates are significant as they impact California’s utility rates, infrastructure development, and regulatory policies. The commission highlighted opportunities for public comment and participation in ongoing proceedings that shape future actions.

Among the proposed decisions open for public comment is one authorizing a ten percent rate increase on the Crimson California Pipeline Southern California pipeline system. Another proposed decision seeks to order immediate improvements to the California Climate Credit program with the goal of lowering electric and gas bills. A separate proposal would dismiss a joint petition for modification of an earlier decision as moot.

Several new complaints and applications were also filed during this period. Notable among them is an application by Pacific Gas and Electric Company seeking approval to recover costs related to extending operations at Diablo Canyon Power Plant through December 31, 2027. Other applications include requests from Southern California Edison Company for authorization to deploy Advanced Metering Infrastructure upgrades, from Western Riverside Council of Governments regarding regional energy network plans through 2035, and from The Landline Company seeking authority to operate scheduled passenger transportation between Sonoma County Airport and San Francisco International Airport under a flexible fare structure.

A complaint was also filed alleging overbilling by Wave Energy LLC and Pacific Gas and Electric Company.

Members of the public can submit written comments on any proposed decision via each proceeding’s Docket Card or subscribe using proceeding numbers to receive updates about rulings or notices.
