California will host a series of events across the state to celebrate Pride Month in 2025. The state, which officially designated June as LGBTQ+ Pride Month in 2018, has a long history connected to LGBTQ+ activism. California was home to the first LGBTQ+ business association in 1962, Laguna Beach elected the nation’s first openly gay mayor, and San Francisco is known as the birthplace of the rainbow flag.

In Sacramento, SacPride will take place on June 14–15 at Capitol Mall, drawing more than 20,000 visitors annually. The event features food vendors and performances by Drag Race stars such as Shea Couleé and local artists. On Sunday, attendees can participate in or watch the Pride March from Southside Park to the State Capitol.

Sonoma County will mark its 40th annual Pride with the theme “Forty and Fierce” from May 30–June 1 in Santa Rosa. Events include a flag-raising ceremony, drag performances, a parade, pool party, and special wine-focused dinners during Out in the Vineyard Gay Wine Weekend scheduled for July 18–20.

Napa Pride returns for its 23rd year with events throughout June. The kickoff party will be held on June 1 at Andaz Mercantile Terrace in downtown Napa.

San Francisco Bay Area’s main celebration adopts “Queer Joy is Resistance” as its theme for this year’s festival on June 28–29 at Civic Center Plaza. The weekend includes concerts, comedy acts, cabaret shows, and Sunday’s parade from the Embarcadero to City Hall. Twin Peaks’ Pink Triangle installation will commemorate LGBTQ+ victims of the Holocaust. Other Bay Area events include Filoli’s Ribbons of Remembrance flag display (June 14–15), Fresh Meat Festival (June 19–21) at Z Space in the Mission District, and Frameline49: The San Francisco International LGBTQ+ Film Festival (June 18–28).

Pacifica will hold its Pride festivities on June 7 with a car parade and festival featuring music, food trucks, art tables by local artists, family activities and afterparties.

Central Coast Pride offers celebrations spanning May through June across San Luis Obispo County towns including Atascadero and Cambria. Main events culminate during Pridefest weekend from May 30–June 1.

Los Angeles will host its historic pride parade—now in its 55th year—on June 8 along Hollywood Boulevard with an estimated attendance of over 145,000 people. Festivities include a street festival with bars, beer gardens and live entertainment. West Hollywood’s WeHo Pride runs May 30–June 1 with a street fair and OUTLOUD music festival featuring performers such as Lizzo and Lil Nas X. The WeHo Pride Arts Festival takes place May 23–25 with music by Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles among other offerings.

Santa Monica’s SaMo Pride extends throughout June with activities for all ages including a street festival on June 21; family storytelling events at Santa Monica Pier; face painting; performances; and a bar crawl for nightlife participants.

Catalina Island will hold Catalina Pride from June 6–7 in Avalon with live entertainment on Wrigley Stage, a march to Casino Point and rainbow lighting of Catalina Casino.

Disneyland After Dark: Pride Nite returns to Anaheim’s Disneyland Park on June 16 and June 18 offering after-hours access for themed entertainment including dance parties and character appearances during special parades.

Fresno hosts Rainbow Pride on June 7 featuring a parade of floats representing businesses and organizations plus live music from more than one hundred vendors as well as areas dedicated to children’s activities.

Santa Ynez Valley celebrates SYV Pride Month starting with Solvang’s parade and festival on June 14 that features live music, food trucks and family-friendly attractions like face painting.

Several cities schedule their major pride celebrations outside of June: San Diego plans multiple events July 16–20 culminating in Balboa Park; Oakland holds its Carnival & Fun Fair along with a parade September 7; Greater Palm Springs organizes block parties November 6–9; Costa Mesa presents OC Pride Parade & Festival September 27.
