Butcher Power Products, a Sacramento-based manufacturer specializing in utility-grade switchboards, switchgear, and power distribution equipment for mission-critical environments, has joined the California Manufacturers & Technology Association (CMTA). The company serves a variety of sectors including transportation, industrial, and energy markets.
In under two years, Butcher Power Products expanded its operations from a 6,000 square-foot facility to more than 100,000 square feet of manufacturing space. CMTA President & CEO Lance Hastings commented on this growth: “Butcher Power Products’ impressive growth reflects the strength and impact of manufacturing in California. Their technical capabilities and commitment to high-quality production demonstrate exactly why our state’s manufacturing industry remains so vital to the economy. I am thrilled to welcome them to CMTA and look forward to working together.”
Kyle Kuperus, Community & Compliance Manager at Butcher Power Products, said: “Butcher Power Products is proud to join CMTA and stand alongside so many of California’s leading manufacturers. Participating in the 2025 Coolest Thing Made in California contest gave us a firsthand look at the strength and innovation of the state’s manufacturing network, and we’re excited to stay engaged with CMTA as we advance California’s industry.”
The company emphasizes advanced operations, strict quality standards, and serves both domestic and global markets. Its addition strengthens CMTA’s representation across important segments of California’s manufacturing sector.
CMTA has represented manufacturers before the state legislature since 1918. Manufacturing contributes about $300 billion annually—approximately 10 percent of California’s economic output—and employs 1.3 million people in the state with wages higher than those paid by other non-farm employers.
Butcher Power Products produces low- and medium-voltage switchboards and switchgear designed for demanding uptime requirements as well as compliance standards.
