American Eagle has partnered with Snapchat to promote its back-to-school shopping campaign. Over 800 American Eagle stores across the United States will now appear as Promoted Places on Snap Map, a feature that allows users to discover new locations and brands while browsing the app.

Through this collaboration, Snapchat users can find American Eagle store locations on Snap Map, view related Stories and Spotlight content from both the brand and other creators, and access ae.com for online shopping. Additionally, American Eagle is introducing an AE Jeans Try-on Haul Lens available in the Lens Carousel and on their Public Profile.

American Eagle is the first specialty fashion retailer to use Promoted Places, which is designed to highlight points of interest for Snapchat’s user base. The company aims to reach some of the 400 million people who use Snap Map each month and encourage more in-store visits.

Crystal Alexander, Senior Manager, Client Partner at Snap Inc., said: “Snap Map is where millions of Snapchatters go to see what’s happening around them. With over 40 billion opens last quarter alone, it’s become one of the most powerful platforms for real-time discovery. With Promoted Places, we’re thrilled to help brands like American Eagle show up in both everyday moments and major events like back to school shopping and turn local discovery into real-world visits.”

Recent surveys indicate that more than 95% of Snapchat users plan to shop in-store for back-to-school items this year.

The initiative reflects how retail brands are using digital platforms such as Snapchat’s Snap Map to engage with customers ahead of major shopping seasons.
