AMZ Prep announced on its website that California leads the nation in Amazon seller-supported job creation, with more than 287,000 positions.

According to AMZ Prep, California’s leadership in Amazon seller job creation reflects its strong infrastructure for eCommerce, including major ports, logistics hubs, and access to global markets. Amazon’s marketplace tools—such as Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA), real-time analytics, and automated fulfillment—allow sellers to scale quickly, supporting job growth across operations, marketing, and logistics. As Amazon decentralizes retail, states like California benefit from local business expansion and digital entrepreneurship.

Independent sellers on Amazon now employ more than 2 million people across the United States. This figure grew 11% year-over-year from 2023. These employment figures exclude indirect job creation through logistics, warehousing, and professional services, suggesting the overall economic impact is even greater than reported totals.

Amazon states that it has created more jobs in the past decade than any other U.S.-based company, making it the nation’s second-largest private employer. The company reports employing more than 1.5 million people worldwide, with roles spanning fulfillment centers, logistics, corporate offices, and technology development. In California specifically, Amazon’s direct employment footprint includes tens of thousands of workers across operations and delivery networks.

AMZ Prep provides fulfillment services such as FBA prep and logistics support to Amazon sellers across the U.S., Canada, and Europe. Operating over 50 warehouses, the company helps brands streamline operations with flat-rate pricing and services like cold storage, freight forwarding, and subscription box fulfillment. AMZ Prep’s infrastructure supports job growth indirectly by enabling sellers to expand operations efficiently.
